"Am I A Girl?" is the upcoming sophomore album by Poppy. The album is set to be released on October 31st, 2018.[1]


Poppy began recording the album before going on the Poppy.Computer Tour. In an interview, she stated that its genre is a "new type of pop music".[2] On January 13th, 2018, Poppy revealed in an interview that the album was complete.[3] On May 15th, 2018, Poppy confirmed the title by tweeting "Ready 4 album title?", followed by an image of her with the caption "Am I A Girl?".


Poppy has stated that the album will strongly focus on questioning gender and identity. Unlike her previous album "Poppy.Computer", the album will be stepping away from the character of Poppy on most songs.

Am I A Girl? Tour

Poppy first announced a tour to promote the album on July 10th, 2018. Ticket presale began on July 11th, 2018, with general sale beginning on July 13th, 2018. The tour is set to begin with a warm-up show in Vancouver, British Columbia for the Westward Festival on September 14th and officially begins in Barcelona, Spain on September 22nd.



"In A Minute" was released on July 27th, 2018 through I'm Poppy Records and Mad Decent Records and served as the first single to the album.

"Time Is Up" was released on August 22nd, 2018 through I'm Poppy Records and Mad Decent Records and served as the second single to the album.

"Fashion After All" will be released sometime in fall 2018 through I'm Poppy Records and Mad Decent Records and will serve as the third single to the album.


  • The album will have several songs with references to Japanese culture and French culture.[3]
  • Simon Wilcox went to Japan with Poppy and Titanic Sinclair to help with the album.
  • Poppy has confirmed in a now-deleted tweet that her cover of "Metal" will not be appearing on the album, followed by further confirmation of no covers being featured on the album.
  • There will be two songs featuring Grimes on the album.[4]
  • Poppy has stated that one song on the album will be about destroying things, while another song will be about power.
  • Poppy will be working with Fernando Garibay on the album.
  • Diplo has produced several songs on the album.
  • The song "Good To Me" was intended to be on "Am I A Girl?", but was later scrapped.
